Michelle Kambasha - What's It Like Being A Black Women in Music PR, Journalism & Education
Michelle Kambasha is a music publicist, journalist, public speaker and educator of over 11 years. As a publicist, she worked at Secretly Group and Satellite414 covering acts like, Sharon Van Etten, Bon Iver, William Eggleston, Lonnie Holley, Jamila Woods, Moses Sumney, Dave, Amber Mark and more. She frequently writes for major publications with by-lines including the Guardian, The Telegraph, The I, The Independent, WePresent.
She teaches the module diversity in the creative industries at BIMM University and frequently hosts, chairs and talks on panels both national and international. Alongside this, she runs her PR company, kp. communications, where she works with Kara Jackson, Jamila Woods, aja monet, Madison McFerrin as well as organisations like The Black Curriculum. Her work primarily focusses on the intersection of Black representation in alternative music spaces.
